I know blu-ray’s are encoded in YCbCr, however I’m under the assumption this is only because before now, TV’s couldn’t handle 4:4:4 subsampling and setting your player to RGB would cause black crush, which isn’t the case now for OLED. So, the Video use YCbCr. The Pi convert it to RGB for internal ussage while playing with KODI. Pi output is YCbCr and TV will finaly convert to RGB for the LCD panel. I prefer RGB output with the Pi because my TV is interoperable with RGB input. Check the TV settings for HDMI input. Probable it support configuring the color space.

Nov 11, 2014 · I really doubt you'd notice any difference but if you had to go YCbCr then choose 4:4:4. I can’t use my PC in YCbCr on my TV properly as when I do it oversaturates the red when the TV is in PC mode. Works fine in RGB mode tho.

I tend to use nvidia colour settings instead of 'default' anyway to manually select 10/12 bit and Ycbcr etc but just quickly put it to default for testing purposes. Defaulted to 8 bit RGB (which was noticeably dimmer and not as colourful) and then turned HDR on via the Display Settings in Windows and it went to Ycbrc 422 and 10 bit colour. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to switch between HDR and non HDR via Windows 10 and have 10-bit or 12-bit color depth, because I have to go into Windows' display settings, enable HDR, then go into the Nvidia settings and change it to YCbCr422, accept, then change it to 10 or 12-bit and accept again.
